    A centre of excellence building the future with families, with one clear aim: to give children the best possible start in life. We are a friendly and welcoming community, working, learning and playing together to meet the needs of children in a supportive and stimulating environment. 

    Our team of practitioners and volunteers, from varied and different disciplines, work together with families to deliver joined-up services. We are constantly developing new approaches to offering information, support and services that families want. We share knowledge, experience and skills. Here, everyone is nurtured and valued.

  • Alver Valley Family Centre

    Supporting families in the Rowner and Alver Valley community since 2005, with one clear aim: to give children the best possible start in life through making a difference for children, families and the local community. 

    The family centre has been in operation in this building since 2005 and prior to that since 2003 in other local and temporary buildings.  During this time there have been many changes but we are still here with the same aim of making life better for children, families and the community.  There is lots that goes on each week in the Family Centre, so pop along and have a look or pop over to our other website for more information or join us on Facebook for the latest news.

  • Lillipad 

    Lillipad hosts a number of facilities including a creche that runs on a Wednesday morning to give you some time to yourself and a variety of parent and child groups

    Stay and Play – 3 months – 4 years ~ £1.50 per family
    Mondays at Alver Valley Family Centre: 1000 – 1200. Term time only. Just turn up to enjoy the fun

    Sticky Fingers – 3 months – 4 years ~ £2.00 per family
    Fridays at Rowner Family Centre: 1100- 1200. Term time only. Just turn up and join in

  • Magpies Pre-School 

    Magpies Pre-School strives to provide safe, affordable high quality early education within a developmentally appropriate environment.  Magpies Pre-School is part of Oaktree Family Group and is located at the Alver Valley Family Centre. It provides care for children from the term after their 2nd birthday, up until they go to school.

    Opening times:
    0900 -1500 Monday to Friday – Term Time only

  • Little Barn Owls Pre-School 

    Little Barn Owls Pre-school opened in 2017 and is a pre-school with a difference, taking children from 2 years to school age and are open 0800 – 1800, Monday to Friday, 51 weeks a year.

    We work in partnership with families and Elson Infant School to develop the best programme of learning and support to benefit each child’s overall development
